Lars Kildehøj Rasmussen has retired due to illness.

He got his M. Eng. in 1989 from the Technical University of Denmark (Lyngby, Denmark) and his Ph.D. degree from Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia, USA) in 1993. He is now a Professor in the Communication Theory Department at the School of Electrical Engineering, and the ACCESS Linnaeus Center at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

He has prior experience from the ITR at the University of South Australia (Adelaide, Australia), the Center for Wireless Communications at National University of Singapore, Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden), and University of Pretoria (Pretoria, South Africa).

He is a co-founder of Cohda Wireless Pty Ltd; a leading developer of Safe Vehicle and Connected Vehicle design solutions. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a member of the IEEE Information Theory and Communications Societies and served as Chairman for the Australian Chapter of the IEEE Information Theory Society 2004-2005, and has been a board member of the IEEE Sweden Section Vehicular Technology, Communications, and Information Theory Joint Societies Chapter since 2010. He is an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and Elsevier Physical Communications.

His research interests include transmission strategies and coding schemes for wireless communications, coding for delay-constrained applications, ad hoc wireless networks, cooperative communications, communications and control, communications and positioning, and vehicular communication systems.
