Research

The work on the group consists of the engineering and application of prokaryotes with the aim of contributing to a sustainable future. The focus of the research is divided in two main areas: the display of functional proteins on the Gram-negative bacterial cell surface, and metabolic engineering for production of renewable fuels and chemicals. Studied organisms include the mesophile Escherichia coli and thermophilic Geobacillus.

Teaching

I am the main teacher and course responsble for the course in Metabolic Engineering given for the first year students of the Master's program in Industrial Biotechnology.  In addition, I am contributing to the teaching of the downstream processing part of the Bioprocess Design course taken by the second year Industrial Biotechnology Master's students.
