Byron Roberto Navas Viera

I defended my Ph.D. thesis in December 2015. My research as a Ph.D. student was conducted at the Electronic and Embedded Systems (ESY) department of the School of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The title of my doctoral thesis is "Cognitive and Self-Adaptive SoCs with Self-Healing Run-Time-Reconfigurable RecoBlocks."

The fundamental topic of my research is Partial and Run-time Reconfiguration in Embedded Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), This investigation has been inspired by and gradually connected to my other research interests, e.g., IP-core design, dependability, fault tolerance, hardware acceleration, autonomic and organic computing, self-healing, self-awareness, self-adaptation, and reinforcement learning. 

I worked under the main supervision of Ingo Sander, and co-supervision of Johnny Öberg.
