About me

Kaveh is aiming at helping to reverse global warming. To achieve this he is serving as data scientist at Power2U AB, working on an AI-driven automated platform to manage energy in a more sustainable manner in residential buildings. This platform will help customers, having integrated energy technologies such as solar cells, EV chargers and batteries, to emit less CO2, share energy with each other, and gain profit by participation in flexibility markets.

He did his PhD studies at the Division of  Electric Power and Energy Systems at KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, and supervised by Prof. Lars Nordström. His PhD thesis is written on "Hierarchical energy management in smart grids: Flexibility prediction, scheduling and resilient control". He received his Licentiate degree from the Division of Decision and Control Systems at KTH, in 2016, and under supervision of Prof. Henrik Sandberg and Prof. Karl Henrik Johansson. He has done his Bachelor and Master studies in Electrical Engineering and Control Field in 2009 and 2011, respectively from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, and supervised by Prof. Mohammad Saleh Tavazoei.

His research interests include Distributed Control, Optimization, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Secure Cyber-Physical SystemsEnergy Systems and Smart Electricity Grids.


Recent research:

Here, algorithms are proposed to learn the stochastic behavior of the dynamical system, and predict and plan the flexibilities of the aggregated residential loads for demand response (DR) program. The cost of the communication and control system for enabling the DR service is kept at minimum, in order to provide competitive prices on an electricity market.
