About me

Dr. Shuvra Singha obtained her M. Sc. in Applied Chemistry from NIT, Trichy, India in 2009 and received her Ph.D. from the University of Hyderabad, India in 2016. Her Ph.D. thesis work was on Polybenzimidazole-based blends and nanocomposites for high-temperature Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and Microbial Fuel Cells.  She worked as National Postdoctoral Fellow (NPDF) at IIT-Madras, India, during 2016-2018, funded by DST-SERB, India.

She is currently a Knut and Alice Wallenberg Postdoctoral Fellow (since 2019) in the group of Prof. Mikael Hedenqvist at Wallenberg Wood Science Center/Dept. of Fibre and Polymer Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. She is working on plant mimicking polyesters for developing sustainable packaging materials that can be potential substitutes for petroleum-based polymers.

Her research interests include polyelectrolyte membranes, blends and nanocomposites, biopolymers, biocomposites, and barrier polymers for packaging.
