Byggkurs för yrkesverksamma

Publicerad 2013-05-31

Course description

Sustainable urban building and planning is currently high on the societal agenda. Buildings and their surroundings play an important role and many environmental issues need to be taken into consideration to support a more sustainable built environment, such as energy use and emissions over buildings' life cycles, use of construction materials and chemical products, healthy indoor environments and urban green environments.

The course Environmental Aspects of the Built Environment covers significant environmental aspects related to the built environment as well as strategies for reducing the environmental impacts from building and construction and how to work with setting environmental targets in planning situations. You will gain a profound understanding about the environmental impacts of the built environment in relation to specific settings and contexts and learn about how to suggest and argue for relevant approaches for target-setting and environmental assessment approaches (for example environmental building certification tools) in planning situations that you might encounter in your future profession.

The course is offered by Environmental Strategies Research (fms) during Nov 2013 to Jan 2014. It is open for all students, PhD students, and practitioners meeting the eligibility demands.
