Erik Eliasson <eliasson@it.kth.se> provided these test programs for use by students in 2G5564 to test if their audio device supports full duplex audio. He has provided two tools to check if (1) sound can be played ("tone") and (2) if duplex is available ("duplex").
The tool "duplex" also outputs some sound data to standard output, so that you can see if data is received -- even if it is not sent to the sound card.
The tools and the SoundCard class were originally written for his own experiments with writing a SIP phone, hence the settings are quite typical (small buffer in card, 8KHz sampling, 160 samples/buffer). To change these settings requires editing the code and recompiling.
