Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of an independent research project which will be supervised individually and in group. Partcipants will also follow lectures according to an agreed upon schedule. The project will be presented at a half-time and at a final examination. 

Intended learning outcomes

The participants are trained to pursue and conclude an independent research project in the architecture and gender applying critically reflective and creatively productive methods of exploration. After the course participants should have acquired a basic orientation in methods for pursuing a project of this kind, as well as experience and practical skills for this purpose.

  • At least 60 credits´ (hp) documented university studies
  • Documented proficiency in English B or equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS eg).

The course is a part of the course series Arkitektur och Genus, which except from this course contains four courses of 7,5 cr each.

Supplementary information

The course is a part of the course series Arkitektur och genus, which is directed towards a broadly defined feminist target group: for instance students of architecture, planning, design and art, professionals within these fields as well as those in other fields who are interested in architecture.

The course will be taught in English with a possibility for Swedish language students to write and present their project in Swedish.

In the autumn 2010 the course will run on Wednesday afternoons starting September 30th and ending December 16th. An updated schedule will be posted at least two weeks before the course begins.
