Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The main aim of the course is to teach the students to use the media law system that protects the media production that is intellectual property law, marketing law, protection of privacy, and freedom of speech and information.

During the course, the students come go through and work with relevant legal literature, law texts and legal cases.

The industrial connection is achieved, since all components of the course are based on the situation where media companies can use the media law system in the media production.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student is expected to be able to:

- account and explain for the legal issues that arise within the media sector, especially regarding copyright, trademarks, design, marketing, integrity, freedom of speech and information.

- identify, analyse and solve legal problems within the specialist area of the course.

Moved up to school year 4 of an engineering programme, or admitted to a Master's (120 credits) programme.
