The purpose of the course is to cover the scientific literature in the subject area of the thesis with a broader view than strictly necessary for the thesis project.

After completed course the students should have knowledge of the scientific literature in the subject area around the thesis.
Course main content
The literature is decided on a case-by-case basis to cover thesis-related research and scientific techniques, earlier research, and the present state of the art.
Self study under guidance by the thesis advisor.
The literature is decided on a case-by-case basis. Typical contents are 1-3 review papers of the field, and 5 – 15 selected scientific papers around the specific thesis research area.

Requirements for final grade
Seminar(s) given by the student, and one final oral exam.
