Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The student will learn to use the results of a collection of information in a creative way and create literature studies or theoretical backgrounds to, for example, degree projects.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Manage (refer to) references found in text
  • By analysis or synthesis use the texts retrieved to: Pursue an argument, compare and apply different models on problem formulations
  • Use sources found to establish a theoretical basis, on which a student's own studies can be based (compare with theoretical background in articles)
  • Efficiently read and understand scientific literature

Specific prerequisites

The student is expected to have a basic proficiency in his/her subject, as well as 40 accumulated hp. Passing grade on either of these courses: LI1012, LI1011 and LI1021.

Examination and completion

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

  • INL1 - Literature Review, 1.5 credits, grading scale: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
