Resource Efficiency, Material and Carbon Footprints, and Climate Action
Welcome to a Brown Bag and Discussion Seminar with Edgar Hertwich, Professor in industrial ecology at the Department of Energy and Process Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, where he coordinates the research area Circular Economy. He is a member of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change.

Medverkande: Edgar Hertwich
Edgar Hertwich is former president of the International Society for Industrial Ecology (2017-2018), his research interests include climate mitigation, low-carbon energy systems, sustainable consumption and production, and sustainability transformation both in terms of individual actions and policy frameworks.
Hertwich is also developing a new line of research, assembling elements of a narrative theory of sustainable development. This work-in-progress extends from discussions and lectures on his reading of history, anthropology, and philosophy. He would welcome a round-table conversation or bilateral meetings with individuals who are interested.
Co-convenors
Karin Larsdotteristhe Deputy Director of KTH Climate Action Centre, a multi-disciplinary, collaborative and research-focused centre to address climate mitigation and adaptation.
Sarah Cornell is a Principal Researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stockholm University, where research addresses sustainability challenges knowing that people and nature are deeply intertwined.
Contact karinlar@kth.se or sarah.cornell@su.se for more information, including to schedule meetings with Edgar Hertwich during this short visit to Stockholm.
12:00-13:00 Brown-bag lunch – meet together, bring your own food, listen and discuss!
Edgar Hertwich will present and discuss some recent work on analysis, modelling and real-world organization of resource effiency, including the challenges of the dynamic contemporary context of Europe’s climate neutrality policy.
13:00-14:00 Discussion time, building a shared overview of related work at KTH and Stockholm University
