Award to Christos Kolitsidas
Christos Kolitsidas, PhD student at Electromagnetic Engineering at School of Electrical Engineering, has been awarded the first prize in Best paper student competition in the section of Antennas and Microwave Technologies at PIERS conference 2014 in Guangzhou, China.
The paper is co-authored with Lars Jonsson and is entitled "Edge effects in a strongly coupled dipole element array in triangular lattice", and treats effects of the edges in a mid-size wide-band and wide-scan array antennas with applications to future mobile base-stations. The research is part of the Next generation array antennas project within Chase. The PIERS conference is convened yearly, and is a meeting place for radio, microwave and optical wave scientists in the world, and about 2000 papers were presented this year
