Title: High order absorbing boundary conditions for fast frequency sweeps of acoustic finite element problems
Abstract: In the past decades, the digital twins modeling has received a great interest. The philosophy behind it corresponds to the capability of modeling different physical aspects in order to predict, plan, and develop future advancements. Exterior acoustic modeling belongs to the digital twin research. It corresponds to the model of acoustic waves propagating in an infinite domain, such as the noise of a car in an open street. Also belonging to digital twins, model order reduction techniques investigate the reduction of computational cost of models. While exterior acoustic modeling can involve large domains, the use of model order reduction would be of a great impact. To this extent, the presented work introduces a method to model exterior acoustic problems along with their feasibility in term of model order reduction. Known as absorbing boundary condition, this method for exterior acoustic modeling suffered from frequency dependency leading to higher computation cost. A second limitation of the absorbing boundary condition was the limitation to the so-called "low orders", due to numerical complexity in the finite elements method implementation. This work aims at solving these two limitations and naturally leads to suitability to model order reduction techniques.
