DM2584 Advanced project course in Media Management 7.5 credits

The course is an advanced project course, where the students carry out a smaller research study in close cooperation with researchers in the area of Media Management. By participating in the research current issues in the research domain are concerned, which work as preparation for the degree project. All projects have a clear media technological character with a specialisation in the student's choice of specialisation in the Master's programme, but offer at the same time additional adoption of a profile to for example management, leadership or inter-cultural communication in a specific application area. The projects are usually carried out in groups of 2-3 students, but there can also be other set-ups depending on the extent and nature of the project. The course is assessed through project work and a thesis that summarises problems, methods and results. The thesis is presented at the end of the course to teachers and other students in a joint seminar. In addition to this, the development of the project is documented and reported continuously to the involved supervisors/researchers as well as to other students.

On completion of the course, students should be able to:

• run and carry out project work with the purpose of producing scientifically based results
• argue for methodological, technological, and management related choices in the project work
• express project & research results in academic writing
• present and argue for project & research results before an audience
• use terms and concepts related to research in the area of the project work

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

• INL1 - Written assignments, 2.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
• PRO1 - Project, 5.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
