Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Strategic and operational purchasing matters, supplier base design, buyer-supplier relations, supplier selection; the purchasing role in the supplier chain.

Intended learning outcomes

  • Good awareness of the role and substance of purchasing and supply management in companies, public authorities, and government agencies.
  • In a structures way be able to identify and describe essential purchasing-related terms and activities within the purchasing process.
  • Be able to describe and explain aspects on the supplier-base design related to purchase needs, supplier relations, and sourcing strategies.

Literature and preparations

Specific prerequisites

University studies of at least 120 credits (Swedish hp) and documented proficiency in Swedish B and English A, or equivalent.
