Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course addresses secondary and upper secondary school teachers that receive students on a placement for their profession exercise (VFU) .

This course intends to develop the participants' educational skills as supervisors for teacher students through seminars and lectures that treat theories and models for exploratory working methods concerning learning and supervision of placement (VFU) students. It furthermore intends to develop the students' supervision competence by carrying out a study in the area and presenting the results.

Intended learning outcomes

The course is an advanced course that intends to have continued develop the participants' educational skills as supervisor for a teacher students and develop the participants' ability to examine and reflect on supervision in a learning context based on current research and own experiences

After passing the course, the student shall be able to

1. Give an account of theories and models for learning, supervision and examination methodology and reflect on how these could be applied during the supervision process

2. Examine, analyse and critically reflect on supervision of placement (VFU) students

3. Present the result of a study of supervision in a learning context to a target group which is well acquainted with the subject

Completed teacher education or an equivalent discipline. Passed LT1029 or VFU supervisor course of at least 3 higher education credits (from optional university).

  • INL1 - Hand-in assignment, 3.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
  • SEM1 - Seminars , 1.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
