Pontus Braunerhjelm on Trump, clusters and immigration in The New Yorker

In an interview with the New Yorker  claims that president Trump’s isolationistic policy agenda constitutes a threat to successful clusters in the U.S. An inflow of ideas and individuals are critically important conditionsto promote continued cluster growth and innovativeness. As is an internationally competitive knowledge base, i.e. the research and education systems. Hence, while it is hard for governments to ignite and build clusters, they can easily kill them. As Michael Porter, Harvard Business School, notes in the same article, it takes time for clusters to reach a critical mass and sustainable development path.
