Information about your KTH Account

Your KTH account is your identity in KTH's central user database. You use the account to access IT and student services, for example Personal menu, e-mail, Canvas, wireless network, KTH Print or Ladok.

A KTH account is automatically created for you after you have been accepted to a program or course. The account consists of a username and password. The password is personal and must be kept secret and thus only known by you.

In our computer systems, we use the same username and password as the KTH account. If you change the password in one place, it is automatically changed in all other systems connected to the account.

Activate your account

As a new student, you need to activate your KTH account before it can be used. You can activate your KTH account using BankID or an activation code obtained at KTH.

Visit KTH

Bring a valid identification  and visit KTH Entré  at Drottning Kristinas väg 4, Stockholm.
If you are located at another KTH campus, you can contact the local IT support at your campus .

After activation

Once you have activated your KTH account, you can link it to your FrejaID account. This makes it easier to manage your KTH account, for example if you have forgotten your password, and allows you to sign in to Ladok for alumni using more login options.

Manage your KTH account

On the Manage your KTH account  page, you can, among other things:

  • View account details and settings
  • Manage multifactor authentication, MFA, for your KTH account
  • Change your password
  • Link FrejaID
  • Activate your KTH account
  • Increase your level of assurance using an e‑ID
