Congratulations on your admission to KTH! Exciting times await you, and we look forward to meeting you. It's now time for you to start preparing for your move to Stockholm. To help you out, we have gathered all information you need as an incoming exchange, double degree or dual master's student. Just follow the necessary steps below.
You must be present at KTH by 13 January 2026
The spring semester at KTH starts on 13 January 2026. If you cannot arrive by this date, you must fill out our exemption form. The form is available until 13 January 2026.
Please note: If you are taking courses in chemistry or biotechnology at the start of your exchange studies with KTH, you might not be able to arrive later than 13 January due to mandatory group work at the start of the semester.
Get support in person at KTH
As an incoming exchange student, you can get support in person from KTH's exchange coordinators in KTH Entré every working day from 7 to 19 January between 14:00 and 16:00. We can help you with topics such as courses and schedules, course changes and signing of documents. We will have a separate queue for exchange students with these kinds of questions.
You can also visit KTH Entré during all opening hours for support with your KTH account, access card, housing questions, and much more.
Sometimes, you might need to change course(s) after you have made your initial course selection. Change your course by cancelling or interrupting the course(s) you do not intend to take in the service
Ladok for students
. Finish the course changes by sending an email with the new course (name, course code, and application code) to
exchangestudies@kth.se
.
KTH collects emergency contact information from all newly admitted international students. This is done so that we can contact someone close to you in case of an emergency.
Moving to a new country is a big step, and we at KTH are here to make the transition easier. Please read our guide to living and studying in Sweden and learn more about the insurances you need, how to find accommodation and how to apply for our language courses.
If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be cautious when communicating with landlords, and never send money before visiting the property or signing a legitimate contract.
Please also note that subletting KTH Housing is strictly prohibited. Any such offers are not legitimate and should be avoided. If you come across listings claiming to sublet KTH housing, we recommend avoiding them and reporting the listing to
