Intended learning outcomes

Important element in the course are the following: static and dynamic comparative advantages, spatial and location advantages plus specialization; one way and two way trade, affinity in international and interregional trade; spatial price equilibria, barriers and friction; intraregional and regional flows of goods and service, patterns of specialisation and regional transformations; interregional migration and regional economic growth

The objective of the course is to give students knowledge of regional and interregional economics and theories of innovation and location. The course will provide an ability to critically analyze economic problems relating to location, specialization and trade for regions of different types

Learning outcome
The student should be able to structure and analyze empirical data reflecting location and change in geographical patterns. In addition, the student should be able to model and explain interregional and international trade flow.

Specific prerequisites

A completed Bachelor's degree including at least 30 credits in mathematics/economics and documented proficiency in English B or equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS eg).
