The course covers:

  • Housing finance.
  • The role of different tenure forms.
  • Price and rent determinants.
  • The relation between macroeconomic factors and the housing market.
  • Housing construction.
  • Economic models of segregation in the housing market.
  • Housing taxation.
  • Housing policy.

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of this course is to present a number of current research areas within housing economics.

Learning outcomes for the course are:

  • Get a deeper knowledge of fundamental issues in housing economics.
  • Be able to describe and explain the logic behind different views on housing policy.
  • Know what are the main current controversial issues in housing economics.
