Consortium Workshop
Doctoral Students met each other, and the consortium, for the 1st time in a Consortium Workshop. The workshop aim was to strengthen the scientific and practical integration of the individual PhD projects within the network as well as shape an overview.
Following the March kick off for the ElectronsMatter Marie Curie Doctoral Network, nine doctoral candidates have been recruited. The students are meeting each other, and the consortium partners, for the first time at KTH this week at a consortium workshop, 12-13 October, 2026 at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
This ElectronsMatter consortium workshop focuses on strengthening the scientific and practical integration of the individual PhD projects within the network. A key activity for both students and supervisors was to develop a shared system design chart for ElectronsMatter, linking the requirements of fusion/plasma-facing applications to material performance, properties, microstructure, alloy/feedstock design and PBF-EB processing.
The aim was to create a common understanding of the overall research challenge and to help each doctoral candidate see where their project fits within the larger system.
