About RELAX

RELAX is a KTH central strategic effort to strengthen and support the use of large-scale experimental facilities that utilize X-rays, neutrons, or muons are cutting-edge experimental facilities. It is our goal to support KTH research both with expertise, educational efforts, strategic actions, and some funding opportunities, to provide KTH researchers with tools for advanced materials characterization.
Large-scale research infrastructures that utilize X-rays, neutrons, or muons are cutting-edge experimental facilities, providing researchers with unparalleled tools for advanced materials characterization. The RELAX program is a central strategic initiative at KTH designed to facilitate more frequent and effective access to these infrastructures for KTH scientists. The long-term goal is to further strengthen KTH’s strategic position in this field, building on our already strong foundation.
RELAX is centrally funded by KTH with an annual budget of 1 MSEK. The program is led by Strategic Program Director Martin Månsson, who dedicates 20% of his time to its development.
Funding possibilities
To support the use of large-scale tools at KTH, RELAX has identified a set of actions that we allocate funding for, e.g. bringing new users to beamtime or inviting international experts to KTH. For more details, see RELAX Funding: www.kth.se/relax/funding
Colloborations and related activities
Another important task for RELAX is to coordinate and make better use of other initiatives related to Swedish use of large-scale experimental facilities. Read more about related centres, programmes, institutes, and schools: www.kth.se/relax/education/strategic-collaborations
