Quantum resources and classical simulation of continuous- and discrete-variable quantum computers
Prof. Giulia Ferrini, Chalmers
Designing classical algorithms capable of reliably simulating quantum computations is essential for the development of quantum computing architectures. While these algorithms may not be efficient in general, they stand out as critical benchmarks for assessing experimental platforms. In this talk, I will review our recent efforts for providing classical simulation algorithms for quantum computing architectures in both continuous- and discrete-variable systems. I will also highlight how the computational cost of such simulation algorithms is related to the resourcefulness of the circuit elements, as quantified by appropriate resource monotones.
