3 April, Report from lunch event: Transformaintenance? Meeting the dual
WaterCentre@KTH hosted a lunchtime seminar onMonday 3 April 2017 12.00 - 13.00 on the subject of Transformaintenance? Meeting the dual challenge of maintenance and sustainability transformation in infrastructure.
Public authorities today face the dual challenge of on one hand management and maintenance of ageing infrastructure assets, on the other hand the need to lead a transformative shift towards sustainability. A report commissioned by MISTRA [in Swedish] in 2016 concluded that in Sweden there is a backlog not only in maintenance, but also in research and capacity development in this field. MISTRA is expected to soon decide on the opening of a call on maintenance and sustainability in infrastructure, particularly in water, roads, and railways. Together with KTH Sustainability, we want to engage researchers at KTH along with partners from utilities and authorities in a discussion, mapping out ideas and challenges we are already working with.
