Published Mar 31, 2021

Djurö Marine Field Station is a result of the Värmdö municipalty and KTH collaboration.

The KTH-Djurö Marine Field Station is taking form. Basic facilities are in place and the field station starts to become operational. The SMaRC project at KTH did the first tests ever at the field station with the underwater drone SAM.

It was snowy and minus 3 degrees, but despite that the team with Josefine
Severholt, Sriharsha Bhat, Anna Arnwald and Ivan Stenius was bravely fighting the elements and conducting successful field tests.

Fredrik Gröndahl, associate professor, KTH, has been a driving force behind the project and says: ”We are looking forward to develop Djurö Marine Field Station in cooperation with Värmdö municipality, to become a resource for marine research in the Baltic Sea that a multitude of research groups and disciplines at KTH can use to further their progress.”
