Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide students with practical skills they will need as managers.
The understanding and application of theories, models and exercises related to management and leadership should enable students to:

  • Argue and convince others how effective leadership should work.
  • Be able to explain how the students' own personal strengths and weaknesses relates to the ability to pursue effective leadership.
  • Develop an action agenda for the future that will help strengthen their competences and overcome critical weaknesses.
  • Apply leadership skills to given problems and be able to solve challenges.
  • Develop and apply their own individual contribution as a member of an effective team.
  • Develop and apply skills that empower others and enable them to take on challenges.

Course main content

  • Personal skills including developing self-awareness and problem-solving (analytically and creatively).
  • Inter-personal skills including motivating others and managing conflict.
  • Group skills including empowerment, delegation, building effective teams and leading positive change.

Eligibility

120 ECTS credits on university level and documented proficiency in English corresponding to English B (TOEFL, IELTS e g).
