RELAX is a KTH Central strategic effort to strengthen and support the use of large-scale experimental facilities. It is our goal to support KTH research both with expertise, educational efforts, strategic actions, and via our annual budget also some (limited) funding opportunities. If you have an idea for a strategic action, an event, etc. do not hesitate to contact us and we see if we can help/support you. Below are a few official funding opportunities for actions that we have identified within the advisory board.
Bring a New User to Beamtime

If you bring a user with no experience of the chosen large-scale facility to beamtime, RELAX can fund the cost of the trip and accommodation costs up to a maximum of 15,000 SEK. The new user has to be an employee of KTH at the time.
If your team is inexperienced and you bring along an experienced expert user to support you during beamtime, RELAX can fund the cost of the trip and accommodation costs up to a maximum of 25,000 SEK. The expert user has to be an employee of KTH at the time.
RELAX can provide funds to cover travel and accommodation costs, up to a maximum of 50,000 SEK, for invited acknowledged experts (users or facility scientists) at large-scale experimental facilities. The invited expert should be affiliated with an international institution and can stay at KTH for two weeks or more to give lectures in a course, assist with data analysis, and so on.
RELAX can provide funds to cover travel and accommodation costs, up to a maximum of 15,000 SEK, for invited acknowledged experts (users or facility scientists) at large-scale experimental facilities to KTH to give a seminar. The invited expert should be affiliated with an international institution.
