NEXUS Academy structure
The NEXUS Academy framework and the intergrated Doctoral School

The identity of the NEXUS doctoral school is defined by five principles:

  1. Delivery of a high-quality, integrated training curriculum across partner universities, with a strong emphasis on exploiting synergies between disciplines to enable transformative scientific and technological advances in nuclear energy technology, and the resulting new opportunities for other business sectors.

  2. Implementation of cross-disciplinary research projects co-supervised by experts from different fields and NEXUS partners (both academics and professionals), explicitly promoting integration of natural and social science perspectives with innovation and AI through dedicated modules.

  3. Systematic exposure of PhD students to cutting-edge developments and international perspectives through mobility, as well as lectures and intensive short courses delivered by leading international visiting scientists. These activities are structured within summer and winter schools and targeted workshops.

  4. Active promotion of excellence in dissemination through participation in high-impact national and international conferences and publication in leading peer-reviewed journals, which serve as quality assurance, promotion of NEXUS, and attracting talents worldwide.

  5. Strategic alignment with existing national clusters, networks, and projects by leveraging recruitment pipelines, enabling cross-participation in scientific events, and building on the established collaborations and industrial networks of NEXUS principal investigators to strengthen synergies and catalyze future initiatives.
