In groups of three:

A new social initiative aims to address the needs of the increasing number of young people aged 14-20, who are arriving alone to Sweden as refugees. As part of this initiative, some funding will be put to develop new interactive services for this group. What kinds of design would be suitable in this case?

You may have some ideas already, but you probably don’t have enough information yet to make a good plan. Read chapter 3-5 and select some methods that you think would be useful for this particular case.

Before the seminar:
Make a 10 min presentation describing your design strategy for this project.

Take inspiration from the methods and concepts presented in the course book.

10-12 Ideation Workshop

13-16 Come up with 10 different ideas for the design case above.

Make a poster (2xA3) with graphics, images & text, describing a suggested solution for design brief 2. A3 colour printer is available at Delphi.

Describe solution concerning ideas around purpose, main concept, hardware platforms, interface requirements, at the current stage.

13-17 Independent work

Make a first simplistic prototype of your ideas using Balsamiq, Acture, (or similar tool)

Chapter 8: Prototyping, testing, and Development

15-17 Independent work in groups

Bring your prototype/mockup design to school and test at least two of the prototypes made by the other groups.

13-19 Crit

Present your prototype and discuss tools and resources that would be needed to complete the project.
