22 March, WaterCentre@KTH launched on World Water Day

Published Mar 31, 2017

WaterCentre@KTH was officially launched on World Water Day (22 March) with an event in Dome of Visions on KTH campus. Invited representatives from academia, industry, public authorities and the civil society joined in a kick-off workshop, sharing ideas on critical water challenges.

The water challenges in focus were connected to the Sustainable Development Goals; 6 (water and sanitation), 11 (cities) and 14 (the oceans).

The workshop was followed by an afternoon filled with water-related presentations that spanned from local to global perspectives. The speakers' list included leading representatives from City of Stockholm, Svenskt Vatten, NCC, Water Aid and KTH, and topics revolved around the power of collaboration across disciplinary and organisational boundaries.

The event took place on World Water Day, which is celebrated 22 March every year. Water concerns the whole planet Earth and every living being on it and this was mirrored in the content and dedication of the afternoon. WaterCentre@KTH aims at strengthening and deepening collaboration across all kinds of borders in order to find viable and sustainable solutions to our shared water challenges.
