The fact that AI will impact all sectors and most work is no longer an ‘if’ but a when, and in what ways. How do we ensure that our use of AI makes us better at anti-discrimination, equality and inclusion, instead of worse?

This lecture will show how the AI tools we choose to use can both increase and decrease equality and inclusion. In particular, we will focus on concrete solutions and tools that help us to use AI in an inclusive way, as well as what control mechanisms we can use to minimize risks.

Viktoria Saxby has 30 years of experience as an equality, diversity and inclusion consultant, with special expertise in leadership, organizational culture and work environment issues.

Some of the topics the session will cover:

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in a changing world - what is happening and why does it matter?
  • Why can AI risk increasing biases, exclusion and discrimination?
  • Is AI really better at bias-free recruitment than humans?
  • How do we ensure that our AI tools, training data, and questions minimise risks and maximise opportunities
  • Concrete, industry-specific tips and tools for creating and implementing inclusive AI.
