Win a 7-Day Interrail Pass: Poster Competition Launch!
KTH Climate Action Centre and KTH Students for Sustainability launch a joint student competition
The science is clear: to achieve sustainable change, we must rethink how we live and move. Transportation is a critical part of that shift. In partnership with Students for Sustainability and Interrail for Erasmus+, we are excited to launch a student competition focused on the future of mobility.
We as a society need to rethink the ways we live in order to bring by sustainable change. Meanwhile, the transportation sector plays an important role. By bringing mobility in line with climate research, equity, and climate action, we are excited to announce that we will be launching a Student Competition together with Interrail!
Interrail is a unique travelling pass that allows unlimited train travel in 33 European countries, promoting cross-border connection and low-emission tourism. They have agreed to sponsor us with three 7-day interrail passes that we will give out to three winning participants! Specifically, the Interrail for Erasmus+ Pass allows participants to turn their move abroad into a sustainable adventure, offering flexible travel days that can often be supported by Erasmus+ "green travel" grants and allows for more flexible time planning.
The competition works as follow:
Design an individual poster that explores train travel through two lenses and be sure to make them inspiring:
- Sustainability: Impact on climate action, equity, and societal transformation.
- Technical Insights: Apply and implement technical/engineering concepts related to your subject.
We are expecting creativity in a combination with expertise and facts. Feel free to also relate to personal experiences: Your own stories or visions for rail travel. However, the angle of how to create inspiration is up to the individual participant.
Procedure of the Competition
The time line of the competition is as follows:
- 08 April 2026 - Deadline of application to competition
- 13 April 2026 - Launch of Competition, KTH Innovation, 12:00-13:00
- 29 April 2026 - Deadline for poster submissions
- 06 May 2026 - Final poster fair and announcement of winners
Please note that two lunch lectures in combination with this year's student competition will be held at the Climate Action Centre. Although participation is not required, we strongly encourage participants to join these sessions to gain valuable insights that can aid the poster design process. The details of these sessions will be announced at a later instance.
All entries will be showcased at a Poster Fair, where winners will be selected in two ways:
- Jury’s Choice: A panel of relevant actors will select the two best posters.
- People’s Choice: Visitors at the fair will vote for their favorite poster.
Each winner (three in total) will receive a 7-day Interrail Pass.
