What psychology reveals about climate worry and the ensuing will to engage in sustainable action

A new report explores how climate change impacts people’s mental health, and their subsequent ability to take action.

The paper Climate worry: associations with functional impairment, pro-environmental behaviours and perceived need for support has been published in BMC Psychology, investigating how climate change impacts people’s mental health and their subsequent ability to take action. Part of the research team was Climate Action Centre's director, Dr. Francesco Fuso-Nerini, who says that the work should inform strategies to promote both individual well-being and collective environmental action.
