About OCCUPY CLIMATE CHANGE! - Italian

We have recently published two pieces on our project in two Italian magazines.

For the special issue of the Jacobin Italia (4-2019) titled "Apocalypse No", Marco Armiero and Ethemcan Turhan dive into apocalyptic and distopian narratives of climate change and migrations. They explain how socio-economic inequalities combine and enhance environmental and climate injustice and how climate change should be instrumental in challenging borders, frontiers, fake rhetoric of equality and inequality and racism.

How can we tell a different, complex and complementary story about extreme events and environmental and climatic changes? What tools do social sciences and humanities offer us to reinterpret the past, frame the current crisis, and envision a just and sustainable future? Could cities prove to be the sites of our best climate solutions, besides emitting massive amounts of carbon and being ground zero for the climate crisis?

Those are the main questions addressed by OCC!. In this piece the KTH project team explain why cities should be considered laboratories in the context of climate change:
