River Engineering Group

River Engineering @ SEED

Rivers are critical blue infrastructure for sustainable development. They face myriad challenges in our rapidly changing environement from pollution, flooding, over exploitation, and climate change. The River Engineering thematic group is focused on the sustainable development and management of river basins for the benefit of people and nature. Our expertise and innovative research builds on fundamental competencies in hydraulics and hydrology going back to the origins of KTH. Our research topics cover flood risk management, hydraulic river structures, stakeholder engagement, river regulation and energy use.

We develop close research partnerships with municipal and national partners in industry and regulatory bodies to produce policy and practice relevant results, while moving forward the cutting edge of rivers research.
