Can a new approach to outreach change how research becomes innovation? That question was the starting point for the Prinnovation project – a joint initiative between KTH, Uppsala University and Linköping University to make innovation support itself more innovative, with a particular focus on research in 2D materials.

By working upstream – before ideas have become projects – we tested new ways of engaging with researchers, ranging from bibliometric mapping to interviews led by external journalists. The result is a playbook that shows how a more curious and listening approach can open routes to societal impact that might otherwise be lost.

At this launch event we present the Prinnovation Playbook. The book brings together lessons from six months of experimentation and 150 conversations with researchers in the 2D materials field. We will share what we have learned, what surprised us, and how the methodology can be taken further.

The programme opens with a panel discussion between the heads of the three innovation offices. This is followed by reflections from the project team, and a forward-looking discussion on possible next steps.

Time and place

Friday 14 November, 12:00–13:30 at Teknikringen 1, KTH Campus.
