KTH is now introducing a requirement that you need your access card and PIN to enter KTH's rooms and buildings used for education. The change will take place gradually during the summer and the autumn semester of 2025, starting on 12 June.

To enter KTH buildings and rooms, you will need:

  • Your access card from KTH.
  • The four-digit PIN code of the access card.

If you have lost your access card or forgotten your PIN code, you must visit KTH Entré for support. Please take the opportunity to visit us during the summer when we have shorter queues. Bring a valid ID document.

Please note

  • Your access card is a valuable document, and it is important that you report to KTH if you have lost it. Report the loss of your access card to kortexp@kth.se , or visit KTH Entré for support.
  • To get a new access card or your PIN code, you must visit KTH Entré for support. You can also get support at KTH Flemingsberg during the autumn and spring semesters.
  • Never let anyone else use your personal codes.
  • Do not let people you do not know enter through KTH's locked doors. If a person wants to follow you, dare to ask about the person's business.
  • Be aware of unauthorised persons staying in our buildings and rooms. This may be preparation for a crime, such as theft, violence or threats.

Why KTH is introducing these new requirements

KTH has had repeated problems with unauthorised persons on the premises, which have led to recurring thefts and vandalism. To counteract this, KTH is introducing the requirement for access cards and PIN codes to enter buildings and rooms.

The change is valid until further notice and will take place gradually during the summer and autumn of 2025. The change is part of KTH's Dare to Ask campaign .

KTH Entré, KTH Library, Brinellvägen 8, and several other premises with staffed reception will continue to be open to visitors during daytime without the requirement for access cards and PIN codes.
