Increased number of study places in the E building during evenings and weekends

Published Aug 20, 2025

More students are studying at KTH Campus this autumn, and therefore KTH is opening up an additional 144 study places in the E building's classrooms. The study places are open during weekday evenings and weekends.

KTH Kista and KTH Södertälje recently closed, and almost all of the campuses' education programmes have moved to KTH Campus on Valhallavägen. This also means it will be more crowded on KTH Campus this autumn with more students in the same space.

It has previously not been easy at times to find places to study. The student union, THS, has therefore requested KTH to open up more study places for students, such as classrooms that are usually unused in the evenings and weekends. In the first step, KTH opens up four classrooms in the E building, totalling 144 study places.

From the start of the semester on 25 August, you as a student can study in the following clasrooms during evenings and weekends:

The classrooms are open between from 17:00 to 24:00 on weekdays, and from 06:00 to 22:00 on weekends. In consultation with THS, KTH has decided that room E34 will be a quiet zone.

Crowded in 2025 - but more rooms will be available

In the coming year, it will be more crowded on KTH Campus, affecting students and employees. It is therefore essential to remember to show extra consideration for each other. Above all, there will be fewer lecture halls, exam rooms and computer rooms available. Consequently, lectures can be scheduled between 08:00 and 18:00, and some examinations can be scheduled on Saturdays.

In the long term, more premises will become available. For example, KTH will get more computer rooms next year, and in 2027, KTH will get back the L-building, which is currently rented to the Swedish Defence University.
