Bo Olofsson honored at SEED

On Feb 13th 2025, SEED expressed its gratitude for Bo Olofsson's valuable contributions and lasting impact on the field of Environmental Geology, at the same time looking forward to further collaboration.

Professor Bo Olofsson has started his career at KTH in the late 1970s, and became an vital, enthusiastic force within his subject. With a background in geology and chemistry from Stockholm University, as well as land surveying from KTH, he was appointed Professor of Environmental Geology and has made substantial contributions in the fields of hydrogeology and environmental geophysics.

Over the years, he has supervised around ten doctoral students and a similar number of licentiate theses, in addition to mentoring more than 90 master's students across various topics. His dedication to teaching in undergraduate courses has been equally remarkable, earning him two prestigious teaching awards at KTH and inspiring generations of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Since retiring in 2021, he has remained active at the SEED department as Professor Emeritus, continuing to contribute to research and education.
