eduroam at KTH

Quick reference guide on how to connect a device to the wireless network (WiFi) eduroam.

Add eduroam to your computer, mobile or tablet

To be able to use eduroam, an active KTH account as a student or employee is required.

If you have added eduroam before on your device, start by forgetting it
- Android (support.google.com)
- Chromebook (support.google.com)
- iPhone, iPad or Mac (support.apple.com)
  Remove eduroam profile on iPhone or iPad (support.apple.com)
  Remove eduroam profile on Mac (support.apple.com)
- Ubuntu (help.ubuntu.com)
- Windows 10 or 11 see “Additional troubleshooting steps”
Log in to www.kth.se on your device.
Click your name at the top left of the Personal Menu (in mobile version then click Profile) and under “My Settings” select “Wireless Network”. Then click “Show my network secret” to see your eduroam account details.
Alternatively, visit login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html to get there directly.
Copy your Network secret.
Visit cat.eduroam.org on your device to download the installer for eduroam. Click on “download your eduroam installer”.
Choose “KTH Royal Institute of Technology”.
Download the custom installer file shown on the page and follow the instructions below that apply to your device.

In order for the installation file for eduroam to open, the app geteduroam (Android 8 or higher)
Start the app and select the organization "KTH Royal Institute of Technology"
Fill in your eduroam credentials (those found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html )
- Username: Enter your username followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
- Password: your personal Network secret
- Choose Log In
Select Save when asked "Do you want to save the network?"

5. Finish the configuration by selecting Close app

After the installation file is downloaded from cat.eduroam.org go to “Settings” in your iPhone or iPad and click “Profile Downloaded” and choose to install the profile.
Enter your device passcode. Then select “Install” twice.
Fill in your eduroam credentials (those found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html ) and tap “Next”
- Username: Enter your username followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
- Password: your personal Network Secret
Tap “Done”
Connect to eduroam from the list of wireless networks.

Open the installation file that was downloaded from cat.eduroam.org
Select “Next” in the first step of the installation. Then select “OK” in the prompt that appears.
Fill in your eduroam credentials (those found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html ) and then select “Install”.
- Username: Enter your username followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
- Password: your personal Network secret
- Repeat password: your personal Network secret again
Select “Finish” in the last step
Connect to eduroam from the list of wireless networks.

Open the installation file that was downloaded from cat.eduroam.org/
Go to “System Preferences” and search for “Profiles”
In the Profile list, eduroam® should now be visible. Double-click on it.
Choose to install the eduroam profile and click “Continue” in the prompt
Fill in your eduroam credentials (those found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html ) and then choose to install it.
- Username: Enter your username followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
- Password: your personal Network secret
Approve the installation with Touch ID or your computer password.
Connect to eduroam from the list of wireless networks.

Start the terminal and run the following two commands:
- cd Downloads/
  (If the file was downloaded to another folder, use the command cd and navigate to that folder.)
- python3 eduroam-linux-KRIoT-KTH_eduroam.py
Click “OK” in the “Information” prompt
Click “Yes” in the “eduroam CAT” prompt if you already have a KTH account
In the next three prompts, fill in your eduroam credentials (those found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html )
1. Userid: Enter your userid followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
2. enter password: your personal Network secret
3. repeat your password: your personal Network secret again
4. Click “OK” on the “Information” prompt
Go to Settings on your computer and select “Wi-Fi”. Then select “eduroam” and click on the “Security” tab to verify the following eduroam security settings:
- Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
- Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
- CA certificate: ca.pem
- PEAP Version: Automatic
- Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Username: your own username@kth.se
- Password: your personal Network secret
Connect to eduroam from the list of wireless networks.

Open chrome://network/ in Google Chrome and choose to”Import ONC file”. Select the installation file that was downloaded from cat.eduroam.org
Click on the network icon for the list of available wireless networks and select “eduroam”
Use the following settings. ID and Password can be found here login.sys.kth.se/peapshow.html :
- SSID: eduroam
- Security type: PEAP
- CA: default
- ID: Enter your id (username) followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se)
- Password: your personal Network secret
Restart the computer
Connect to eduroam from the list of wireless networks.
