Course discontinuation
If you have registered for a course but want to drop it, you need to notify your discontinuation in Ladok within three weeks from the start of the period.
Have you registered for a course that you want to drop?
Registering for a course confirms your intention to attend it. If you decide not to take the course, you should discontinue it in Ladok as soon as possible, but no later than three weeks from the start of the study period.
If you discontinue within three weeks
A discontinuation reported within the first three weeks is considered an early course discontinuation.
This means that:
- The course is treated as if you had never taken it
- You can apply for the course again in the future
- You can choose another course instead
Please note that programme students may only take courses within the scope of their programme and its credit limitations.
If you discontinue after three weeks
If you do not discontinue the course within the first three weeks of the study period, you are expected to complete it.
If you are a fee-paying student
If you are a fee-paying student and discontinue a course more than three weeks after the start of the study period, you may exceed the number of credits covered by your tuition fee. As a result, you may need to pay for any additional courses you register for.
