Course and examination

Follow this step-by-step guide to find out what you need to do before and during the reading period when it comes to your courses and examination.

Before, during, and after the course

1. Apply for courses within the programme

When: In November and May.

Once per semester, if you are enrolled in a degree programme, you must register for the courses within your programme that you intend to take during the following semester. You register via universityadmissions.se.

2. Register for the course

When: At the start of the course. Registration is often open from a few days before the course starts until one week after.

You need to register for the course to notify KTH that you intend to take the course to which you have been admitted. If you do not register on time, you will lose your place in the course.

5. Prepare for the exam

When: During the course.

You can find information about the assessment type for your course in the course memo. Remember that if you are taking an exam during the scheduled exam periods or a smaller-scale test, such as quizzes, you must register in Ladok. If you do not register on time, you are not guaranteed a place at the exam.

6. Find the final grade

When: Once you have passed all the modules of a course.

You can find your final course grade in Ladok for Students. The final grade in Ladok should not be confused with the "Grades"  feature in Canvas, which only displays results and feedback on course assignments.

7. Participate in course evaluation

When: Once the course has ended, you will find the course evaluation in Canvas. You will also receive an email with a link to the evaluation.

Participating in the course evaluation is the most important thing you can do to influence your education. After each course, you will receive a survey via Canvas where you can share your experiences. Your responses are used to improve the course for future students.
