Do your degree project via A*STAR in Singapore

You can now apply to write your degree project at A*Star in Singapore, as part of the Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA). The opportunity is aimed at those who will write a bachelor's or master's thesis during the academic year 2024-2025. A*STAR applies continuous applications, but the application must be made at least 4 months before the start.

Where innovation and scientific vibrancy meet

The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) gives international bachelor’s and master’s students in STEM the unique opportunity to experience Singapore’s vibrant scientific environment and work with world-renowned researchers at A*STAR’s research institutes for 2 to 6 months.

The short-term research attachment allows students to embark on an immersive research experience with mentors and researchers at A*STAR. Students will have the opportunity to work collaboratively, gain valuable skills and join the community of scientists at a world-class research hub to expand their network.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open globally to bachelor’s and master’s students in STEM courses
  • Obtained/on track to obtain at least a Second-Class (Upper) Honours or equivalent for bachelor’s degree
  • Students must remain matriculated in their home university during the attachment period
  • Student must not be Singaporean or Singapore PRs
  • Student must not be studying in a Singapore university
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Strong interest in a research career

Allowance

Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of S$2,000 during the attachment in Singapore.
