Alexander is in his second year of the master's programme in Industrial Management. He spent the spring semester 2024 as an exchange student at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
What are the best tips you would give to other students thinking about studying abroad?
My main tip is to be well prepared. Learn about the destinations you are interested in and find out what is required before and after you arrive. Once you receive your acceptance letter, research housing, courses, university activities, language courses, mentoring programs, and if possible, contact former students. If you have the opportunity, visit the city before you move and feel free to plan for extracurricular activities as well. In Zürich, I checked out good ski resorts in advance and other excursions I wanted to do during my time there.
