Why did you choose to go on exchange at Technische Universiteit Delft?

It is a top technical university and has the second-best Architecture master programme in the world.

What was the most significant difference between the exchange studies and life at KTH?

Faster pace, more competitive and performance-oriented, while the people are more open and helpful. You think bigger, and there are resources that mean the possibilities are endless.

What are the biggest lessons you take away from your exchange studies?

Beyond studying, I learned the most from the fantastic people I met during my semester. Above all, I broadened my point of view, got to experience other cultures and was challenged as a person. I am also much more confident in my English than before I left.

Was there a lot of preparation before the exchange?

I had a reasonably painless application as TU Delft is a large international university (=I'm not the only person to apply), which made their application process easy and educational. It was still a long process that took place on and off throughout the fall semester before I left. So, for my part, it became an anxiety that hung over you because the process was so long, and at the same time, it was essential to respond quickly once you got something back from TU Delft. However, I was quick to get accommodation through the school when it came down to it, and that meant I got a room at the most popular accommodation for international students!

What advice would you give to students interested in exchange studies?

APPLY, GO and DON'T HESITATE! My semester was amazing in every way, and beat my expectations by horse lengths. I don't regret it for a second. But if I am to give a tip, it's to be quick on the ball regarding accommodation and accept help from the school. It's much better, cheaper and easier!
