Course development

The course book and lecture slides have been updated. The initial chapter of the book has been extended, providing a more comprehensive introduction and background to the subject. This year the credit point system used in the continual examination was slightly changed in regards to the mini group works.

The course is again given fully physically. Students now also have access to movies for all lectures on the course home page.

• Vector analysis web links were provided in order to improve pre-knowledge. • A virtual video tour of the EXTRAP T2R experiment is now accessible.

• The first lecture was physical, whereas all remaining teaching and examination was carried out digitally • Lectures were video recorded and posted on home page • Two electronic course questionnaires were integrated into the course (at course weeks 2 and 6, 100 % response rate, very useful when not meeting students).

• Two electronic course surveys were integrated into the course (now 100 % response frequency). • Course analysis was written in English for the first time. • Course book is now printed with a subject index. • Some more graphical material was added to the lectures.

• The course is now more visible as elective for students taking the sustainable energy master TSUEM.

• Canvas, the new course web platform, was used in the course • LEQ, the web based course evaluation and analysis tool, was employed

• The course plan has been corrected and improved, for example regarding pre-knowledge requirements. • Printing errors in course book and exercise booklet have been corrected. • Now better information about plagiarisation in first lecture.

• Updated, PowerPoint pictures are now used in first week's lectures rather than transparencies. • "Colour sheet questions" are introduced on some lectures (easier to handle than clickers).

• In order to attract more students we have contacted the course MJ2405 Sustainable Power Generation. Fusion energy is now a module of that course. • We have recorded 10 video lectures about fusion, being accessible in MJ2405, as well as on the home page of this course.

• Some parts of the educational material was updated.

• The first week's data on energy sources and the global energy background was updated. • Course PM was modified to better inform on what is regarded as allowed student collaboration in solving home assignments.

• Certain clarifications were made in the texts for the home assignments. • The mini group works were adjusted to mini- mise stress.

• An early quiz examined the student's pre-knowledge, in particular their deep knowledge of certain topics that are needed for the course. • The student's deep knowledge was again assessed at the end of the course. In future course offerings these questions will be part of the examination of the last course week. The last course week will thus have a larger weight in the total score required for pass grade.

• The course book (now in English) was thoroughly revised.

• The course is now completely held in English, since it is part of Master programs like Erasmus Mundus. • The home assignments were made more substantial; many students found them "too easy" earlier.

• The course book (in LaTex) was translated to English. • Nearly all course material was revised; home page, course PM, transparencies, mini group works, home assignments, course questionnaire .
