Changes planned for the next course offering

- I will keep the active participation in the same format, but revise some of the questions. For the latter, I'll take inspiration from previous assignments / exam questions. - I will number of the weeks of the course consistently with the number of the weeks of the year. - I will consider to move all deadline to Monday instead of Friday. But I will discuss that point with the program responsibles. - I will find a way such that the students have to actively opt in to each team project via canvas to minimize the number of unmotivated members. I will keep that the students, by putting their name on the submission, promise that they had taken part sufficiently. In case of team members not agreeing whether someone took part enough, I will offer 15 minute meetings with the whole team to discuss their views on fair team work. - I will make the team projects slightly less important to the overall grade. Either by just having 4 team projects instead of 6, or by removing the bonus points from the team projects. - I might make the teams stay longer together, i.e. over 4 weeks instead of just 2. This was a suggestion by the student representatives. The downside is that uneven teams have longer time consequences. More randomness in quickly changing teams is more confusing but more fair on average. - I will have another Ladok module for the continuous assessment parts of the course. - I will think if / how I enable students to retake parts of the continuous assessment. I will discuss this with the program responsibles.

I provided more weekly exercises. Most of them were simple not-worked-out examples from the lecture notes. The harder ones were discussed in the exercise sessions, either in group work or on the board by the TA (for the ones that require a trick). The students had those problems a few days before the exercise session. They were encouraged to hand in solutions for 1 problem per week to get feedback on their proofs and written presentation, without being graded.
