Study Abroad

Would you like to spend one of your semesters abroad?

As a master student of TTAHM you have the opportunity to study abroad during your third semester at one of KTH’s partner universities around the world. Please note that many of our agreement only cover engineering faculties, and if you come from a different study background; your selection will be limited. It is therefore important to make thorough research of our destinations and always check with your coordinator about the possibility to apply for a specific university.

Are you already visiting us as an international master student?

Not a problem! First of all: going on exchange to one of our partners will not affect your tuition fee. Whatever you pay (or don’t pay) at KTH, will follow you during your study abroad and you are of course eligible for Erasmus+ grants if you go to a university in the EU. However, there are some regulations regarding your exchange:

  • You need to check that you can get a student visa for the country where you would like to go
  • It is also important to check that you will be able to get a student visa for Sweden again when you return. For this reason, students tend to stay within the EU.
  • You can’t always do an exchange in your home country
  • If you are here on a scholarship, it might be a good idea to check if they have any restrictions for you to study elsewhere.

Normally you will take one full semester at the partner university, and if you find the right courses we can transfer them to your program here at KTH, enabling you to finish your program on time. Please take into consideration however that unexpected matters may occur, which means that going on an exchange always means risking that you might have to extend your studies for one more semester.
